The story of 1876
In 1908, the brand passed to López’s heirs. They sold it in 1918 to Sociedad Cosme Del Peso y Cía, which retained ownership until the Cuban Revolution.
The brand has also appeared under the name Flor de Juan López, before returning to its original name.
In September 1960, Cuba’s revolutionary government nationalized the cigar industry and seized the factory where Juan López cigars were made. Production later resumed, and the Cuban brand is now produced for Habanos S.A.
