The story of Aging Room
Aging Room was launched in 2011 by the Miami-based Habana Cuba Cigar Company. It followed the company’s move away from flavored, mass-market products and toward limited-production premium cigars.
The brand used premium aged Dominican tobacco and was made in smaller quantities than the company’s Swag line. In February 2012, the parent company adopted the name Boutique Blends Cigars as part of its broader emphasis on small-batch, premium, unflavored cigars.
Recognition followed quickly. The Aging Room Small Batch M356 appeared on Cigar Aficionado’s list of the Top 25 Cigars of 2011. The magazine later named the Aging Room Quattro F55 Concerto its No. 2 Cigar of the Year for 2013.
In 2017, Boutique Blends entered a strategic alliance under which Altadis USA assumed sales and distribution for its portfolio. In 2019, the handmade Aging Room Quattro Nicaragua Maestro, produced in collaboration with Tabacalera A.J. Fernandez, was named Cigar Aficionado’s No. 1 Cigar of the Year.
