The story of Asylum
Asylum 13 was created by Christian Eiroa, who also created the Camacho line. Atlantic Cigar Company describes Asylum 13 as an ultra-boutique cigar brand.
The line centers on full-bodied blends made with an all-Nicaraguan approach. Its cigars are produced at Eiroa’s Tabacaleras Unidas factory.
The Asylum 13 range includes unusually large formats, among them the 7-by-70 Gordo and an 8-by-80 cigar. Other named lines include Ogre Barber Pole, Medulla Oblongata Maduro and Schizo Maduro.
How they make them
The Asylum 13 70x7 is a hand-rolled, long-filler cigar made in Nicaragua. It uses a Nicaraguan Habano wrapper over Nicaraguan binder and filler, producing an entirely Nicaraguan blend. The cigar is listed as full strength with a Colorado Maduro color.
