The story of Cu-Avana

Cu-Avana appears in the supplied record through its Intenso line, identified among the cigars made by Nestor Plasencia’s factories.

Plasencia’s cigar operations are based in Honduras and Nicaragua. By the early 1990s, the business operated factories in Danlí, El Paraíso and Morocelí in Honduras, along with facilities in Ocotal and Estelí, Nicaragua.

The wider Plasencia operation manufactures cigars for 30 or more labels. Its factory output grew from 1 million cigars in 1986 to approximately 33 million in 1996.
