The story of Diesel
Diesel is a cigar label made by A.J. Fernandez Cigars, formally known as Tabacalera Fernandez. The company is run by Abdel Y. Fernandez, a third-generation cigarmaker, and produces cigars primarily in Nicaragua.
Before developing his own brands, Fernandez established himself by manufacturing cigars for other companies. Diesel was among the labels through which he first gained wider recognition, and it was made for Cigars International and its associated companies.
Launched in 2009, Diesel initially offered one vitola: the Unholy Cocktail, a thick, five-inch belicoso. The line later added the Shorty, an even shorter robusto with a 60 ring gauge.
Diesel Unlimited followed in 2010 as a second full-bodied blend. It debuted in four vitolas, including a seven-inch, 60-ring double corona.
