The story of Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust
Dunbarton Tobacco & Trust was founded by cigar blender Steve Saka. Its cigars are made in Nicaragua, with Saka identified as the blender behind releases including Polpetta and Year Of The Pausers 2026.
Polpetta began as an event-only cigar. Its name is Italian for “meatball,” and its blend combines cuts from Mi Querida, Mi Querida Triqui Traca and Umbagog with some long-leaf filler. The cigar later became a regular release.
The house’s Year Of series uses cigars to honor people within the cigar community. Year Of The Pausers 2026 pays tribute to Alaska cigar enthusiasts Michelle and Tom Pauser through two separate blends shaped around their individual tastes. Production was limited to 2,700 boxes worldwide, each containing seven cigars of each blend.

Year Of The Pausers
The dual-blend release honored Michelle and Tom Pauser and was limited to 2,700 boxes worldwide.
How they make them
The cited releases are hand rolled in Nicaragua. Polpetta uses Connecticut broadleaf over Mexican and Nicaraguan tobaccos, combining table cuts with long-leaf filler in a specific, consistent mixed-fill blend. Year Of The Pausers 2026 uses two distinct constructions: Michelle’s cigar has Mexican San Andrés negro “cultivo tonto” wrapper, Ecuadorian habano rosado binder, and Nicaraguan and Pennsylvania fillers; Tom’s uses a Capa Camaleón wrapper, Mexican San Andrés binder, and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers.
