The story of Gran Habano
Gran Habano cigars are identified by Atlantic Cigar Company as Honduran in origin and blended by G. Rico. Its documented range includes the Habano #3 and the fuller Corojo #5 Maduro.
The Habano #3 is described as the classic Gran Habano blend. It occupies the middle ground between the Connecticut #1 and Corojo #5 in body, pairing a Honduran Habano wrapper with tobaccos from Nicaragua, Mexico and Costa Rica.
In 2014, Gran Habano introduced the Corojo #5 Maduro. Based on the Corojo #5 blend, it added a darker Nicaraguan Corojo Maduro wrapper to a Nicaraguan Corojo binder and fillers from Nicaragua and Costa Rica.
