The story of Highclere Castle
Highclere Castle cigars are produced by Foundation Cigar Company under owner and blender Nick Melillo.
The line takes its name and historic styling from Highclere Castle, the filming location of the television series “Downton Abbey.”
For the Highclere Castle Edwardian blend, Melillo combined an Ecuadoran Connecticut Shade wrapper, a Brazilian Mata Fina binder and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos. Foundation states that some filler leaves are grown from a hybrid seed called Nicadíçn.
How they make them
Highclere Castle Edwardian cigars are hand-rolled, long-filler cigars made in Nicaragua. The blend uses an Ecuadoran Connecticut Shade wrapper, a Brazilian Mata Fina binder and Nicaraguan fillers, including some tobacco that Foundation says is grown from the hybrid Nicadíçn seed.
