The story of Jaime Garcia
Jaime García is the son of Cuban master roller and blender José “Don Pepín” García. Don Pepín spent forty years developing his craft in Cuba, where he attained the Class 8 (Master) roller rank and worked in quality assurance for Cohiba during the 1990s.
After leaving Cuba in 2001, Don Pepín established El Rey de los Habanos in Miami in 2002. Rising demand led the family to open Tabacalera Cubana in Estelí, Nicaragua, in June 2006. The company later adopted the My Father Cigars name, derived from a blend Jaime had made for his father.
Jaime worked with Don Pepín to develop the Don Pepín García Serie JJ. The family’s portfolio subsequently expanded to include the Jaime Garcia and Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial labels, made under My Father Cigars. Reserva Especial is identified as a Nicaraguan cigar blended by Jaime García.

Jaime Garcia Reserva Especial combines two Nicaraguan fillers, including one grown on the García farm, with a Nicaraguan binder and Connecticut Broadleaf wrapper. The cigars are carefully packed and finished with a triple-seam cap. More broadly, cigars from the García factories are made in the Cuban style with triple caps, and each box is marked with its manufacture date.
