The story of La Palina
La Palina’s cigar band bears a portrait of Goldie Paley. The brand was later resurrected by Bill Paley, who relied on a number of women to develop the brand and protect Goldie’s legacy.
Master torcedora Maria Sierra rolled the La Palina Goldie Series single-handedly for five years at Miami’s El Titan de Bronze factory. La Palina and El Titan de Bronze later announced her retirement and named Lopez Perez as her successor.
In 2015, the Collection Goldie Laguito Especial Lancero placed No. 22 in Cigar Journal’s Top 25. La Palina subsequently expanded its Classic line with new wrappers, blends and sizes, and in 2017 opened a La Palina Lounge upstairs at New York City’s Carnegie Club.
