The story of My Father
My Father Cigars is associated with the Garcia family and Nicaraguan cigar production. The family grows the Nicaraguan tobacco used in the binder and filler of La Opulencia on its own farms.
La Opulencia was introduced at the 2017 IPCPR tradeshow. Blended by Jamie Garcia, it combines a Mexican Rosado Oscuro wrapper with an all-Nicaraguan binder and filler and is made in a box-pressed format.
In 2018, Cigar Aficionado named La Opulencia its #2 Cigar of the Year and rated it 95 points.
The family began growing tobacco in Honduras in 2022, exploring the country's terroirs and adding another source of tobacco for its cigars. It later began building a factory there; My Father Cigars Honduras now produces cigars under Garcia family supervision.

How they make them
The cited cigars are hand-rolled, long-filler products. La Opulencia uses a Mexican Rosado Oscuro wrapper around Nicaraguan binder and filler grown on the Garcia family's farms. At My Father Cigars Honduras, the Maracana is made with a Brazilian Arapiraca wrapper, a double binder of Honduran and Nicaraguan tobacco, and fillers from both countries; its pressed construction is described as providing an effortless draw and consistent burn.
