The story of Perla del Mar
Perla del Mar is a Nicaraguan cigar brand of J.C. Newman Cigar Company. The brand was initially launched in 2012 with a natural wrapper.
Perla del Mar later expanded with a line featuring maduro wrappers. J.C. Newman subsequently reintroduced the brand and shipped the new cigars to brick-and-mortar retailers across the United States.
The brand belongs to a company founded in Cleveland, Ohio, by Hungarian immigrant Julius Caeser Newman in 1895. J.C. Newman moved to Tampa’s Ybor City cigar district in 1954 and remains under fourth-generation Newman family ownership.
