The story of Trader Jack's
In 1954, J.C. Newman moved to Tampa's Ybor City cigar district and into the historic Regensburg cigar factory, built in 1910. The company remains under fourth-generation Newman family ownership and lists Trader Jacks among its United States cigar brands.
Trader Jack's centers on flavored, medium-strength cigars with a Caribbean theme. The Sunrise and Midnight blends combine Dominican, Honduran and Nicaraguan tobaccos, with aromatic island spice added before packing.
The Midnight uses a Connecticut Broadleaf Maduro wrapper. Trader Jack's cigars are described as machine-assisted and attended by skilled cigar makers.
