About this cigar

Blackened M81 is a collaboration between Drew Estate's Jonathan Drew, Metallica's James Hetfield and BLACKENED Whiskey master distiller Rob Dietrich. Made in Nicaragua, its Mexican San Andrés wrapper, Connecticut Broadleaf binder and Nicaraguan-Pennsylvania filler create a dense, full-bodied, maduro-forward smoke.

Aging & storage · Guidance

How to keep it

General humidor guidance for this cigar, based on its wrapper, strength, ring gauge and packaging.

Storage

Hold the box at 65–70% relative humidity at 65–70°F (18–21°C). Steady humidity matters far more than the exact number — swings are what crack wrappers.

Rest after delivery

Two to three weeks of rest after delivery lets the box settle back to your humidor before the first smoke.

Aging window

Full-bodied blends reward patience: a year or two of quiet aging typically trades raw power for depth.

In the box

Age them in their own box where possible — the cedar keeps the cigars marrying together instead of taking on the flavour of everything else in the humidor.
