The story of RoMa Craft
RoMa Craft produces hand-rolled, long-filler cigars in Nicaragua, with Skip Martin identified as the blender of the Neanderthal and CroMagnon PA Broadleaf Maduro lines.
Martin developed Neanderthal to combine extreme strength with complex flavor. Its blend brings together a San Andrés maduro wrapper, Connecticut broadleaf binder, Nicaraguan tobaccos from Condega, Estelí, Jalapa and Pueblo Nuevo, Dominican olor ligero and Pennsylvania double ligero known as Green River Sucker One.
The original CroMagnon used a Connecticut broadleaf wrapper, but limited supply made that leaf difficult to maintain. RoMa Craft turned to Pennsylvania broadleaf, whose thick leaves are suited to maduro wrappers, for the CroMagnon PA Broadleaf Maduro.
The CroMagnon PA Broadleaf Maduro Timeline L.E. pairs its Pennsylvania broadleaf wrapper with a Sumatra binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan filler tobaccos. It is described as a full-strength cigar with notes of chocolate, espresso and spice.
How they make them
The cited RoMa Craft cigars are hand rolled with long filler in Nicaragua. Their blends draw on tobacco from several regions and origins: Neanderthal combines Mexican San Andrés maduro, Connecticut broadleaf, Pennsylvania double ligero, Dominican olor ligero and Nicaraguan leaves from Condega, Estelí, Jalapa and Pueblo Nuevo. CroMagnon PA Broadleaf Maduro uses a Pennsylvania broadleaf wrapper over a Sumatra binder and Dominican and Nicaraguan fillers.
