About this cigar

Foundation Cigar Company produces Charter Oak in Nicaragua as an accessible tribute to Connecticut's tobacco heritage. Despite the Connecticut line wording, the MAD designation identifies the Connecticut Broadleaf maduro version, pairing that wrapper with Nicaraguan binder and filler for a rich but approachable smoke.

Aging & storage · Guidance

How to keep it

General humidor guidance for this cigar, based on its wrapper, strength, ring gauge and packaging.

Storage

Hold the box at 65–70% relative humidity at 65–70°F (18–21°C). Steady humidity matters far more than the exact number — swings are what crack wrappers.

Rest after delivery

Thicker ring gauges hold shipping moisture longest — give these boxes three to four weeks in the humidor before the first one.

Aging window

A medium blend like this holds well for a year or two; longer aging mostly smooths the finish rather than changing the flavour.

In the box

Age them in their own box where possible — the cedar keeps the cigars marrying together instead of taking on the flavour of everything else in the humidor.
